Tulsi Rose Tea is a shop filled with local yummy goodies that pair perfectly with a nice cup of tea. Cheryl and her husband Keith just recently celebrated their one year celebration of having their location in Burnsville, North Carolina.

With a whole "smell a jar" section, you won't be leaving without at least 4 tea varieties. They have so much to choose from and their teas are sourced from Germany, where it's illegal to put any additives in their products. Cheryl has ensured top quality products only and it really shows.

We recently got to learn more about Cheryl and her business.

Tell us a bit about who you are (where you are from, what's your favorite tea/coffee, do you have pets, etc). 

I was born and raised in Fort Pierce, Florida, but lived in Epsom, NH for 8 years before moving to Burnsville.

My favorite tea is Tulsi Rose tea in the evenings, but is Jasmine Green Tea during the day.

I have 2 dogs Mojo & Olive and a cat named Ivy.

How long have you been in business? 

Tulsi Rose Tea celebrated its 1 year anniversary on June 16, 2024

What drew you to owning/creating this business? 

Tea was a staple drink in my house my entire life, but while living in NH I discovered all of the health benefits of drinking herbal as well as Camellia Sinensis (Tea). I wanted to create a place where anyone could find a tea they like. I didn't want to just be an herbal store, but wanted to create a business that would appeal to everyone. Black, Green, White, and Oolong Tea for the regular tea drinker herbal combinations for those looking for a natural remedy to many ailments like inflammation, stomach upset, or relaxation Fruity combinations as an alternative to soda or kool-aid

What is your top selling product and why? 

The top 3 selling teas are:

Earl Grey - there is a large population of Earl Grey tea drinkers and the version I have has the perfect amount of Bergamot oil with a quality black tea

Organic 7 Chakras is an herbal combination that has anti-inflammatory ingredients and tastes delicious

Tuscan Afternoon is a black tea with a nice citrus flavor

My non-tea best seller is a honey dispenser. It provide a beautiful glass jar that dispenses the honey from the bottom to eliminate a lot of the mess of honey dripping down the side.

What is your favorite thing to do in the area? 

On a cloudless evening to drive up to the Dark Sky Observatory and look at the stars/milky way from the parking lot. During the day take a drive on the blue ridge and enjoy the views.
